There is something special about wood burning. The warm brown lines, the grain of the wood showing through, and the feeling of something crafted and lasting. Our wood burn style captures exactly that look – with your pet as the star.

Every portrait is drawn digitally, by hand, by your illustrator – completely without AI. We build up the fur stroke by stroke, just like a pyrography artist would, and then print the portrait directly onto a board of real wood.

To be honest: we don't burn – we print

The name describes the style, not the technique. The portrait is not burned into the wood, it is printed onto it. That lets us capture details that are hard to achieve with a hot pen – the look in the eyes, the fine whiskers and the pattern of the fur – while the piece keeps the warm feel of wood.

Real wood – and no two boards are alike

The portrait is printed on a 10 mm thick board of high-quality, FSC-certified birch. The pale surface of the birch lets the grain and texture of the wood live on through the print – and that's what gives the piece its natural, rustic character.

Because we print on real wood, every piece is unique. The color of the wood varies naturally from board to board: some are pale, almost white, while others have a warmer, golden tone. The grain and small variations in the surface may also show through the print. That's not a flaw – it's exactly what makes the piece feel genuine.

Preview – as close to reality as we can get

Before we print anything, you'll receive a preview to approve. We show the portrait on a wood background to give you a feel for how it will look. Want to adjust the expression or details? No problem – we make free revisions until the portrait feels just right.

Since every wooden board is unique, we can't guarantee that the finished piece will have exactly the same tone as the preview. Think of it as a guide to the portrait itself, not to the shade of the wood.

The portrait doesn't need a frame. The thick birch board and its edge, where the layers of the wood are visible, are part of the look.

Every portrait comes with a hanging kit, so you can put it up on the wall as soon as it arrives. The exact design of the kit may vary. Prefer not to hang it? The thick board stands steadily leaning against the wall on a shelf or sideboard.
